Thermal Processing
Retech has the ability to produce significant quantities of specialty alloys , metal composites , silicon containing alloys, combinations of alloys with special and different melting points as well combinations of materials that have different chemical and mechanical properties.
How is this possible? Thermal processing.
Our various thermal processing technologies create a higher purity result by avoiding contamination within the prescribed process. By using inert gases at atmospheric pressure this also enables excellent chemistry control of the processed materials.
Thermal processing can be used to separate, purify, restore, or combine unlike materials to make new ones. Some of the technologies we employ to complete these tasks are:
- Plasma Arc Melting
- Induction Melting (controlled atmospheric conditions)
- Rapid solidification testing techniques
- Small or large quantity samples
- System design for testing hazardous materials (suitable surrogates)
- Precious metal ore processing (separation techniques and recycling technologies)
- Casting (investment mold or lost wax), any size
- Plasma tilt pour casting
- Environmental recycling/recovery) of metallic, leaded glass from CRT screens or other environmental recycling/recovery
- Non-traditional re-melting of scrap aluminum with plasma, creating a better recovery rate with better electrical efficiency and reduced air emissions
- Small or large scale pharmaceutical and medical waste treatment systems
