PACT™
Hazardous waste of any kind is readily handled by Retech's patented Plasma Arc Centrifugal Treatment Systems (PACT™).
Whether loose feed, slurries, small batches or even 200 liter drums filled with contaminated waste, the Retech 8' rotating, cylindrical containment centrifuge can reduce any and all waste to a homogeneous, vitrified slag.
The most significant aspect of the Retech PACT™ System is that a miscellany of waste streams may be introduced through the feed system during the same cycle or a heterogeneous waste mixture may be processed without resulting in any unacceptable emissions.
Rotating at 5-40 revolutions per minute inside a sealed, water-cooled enclosure, the waste is reduced and vitrified. At the end of processing, this inert product can be safely dumped in a landfill where it will remain an infinitely stable, non-leaching glass-like substance that is in no way harmful to the environment.
The PACT™ systems are currently utilized for reducing the volume of radioactive waste forming a stable product for long term storage and for reducing hazardous wastes of all kinds.
