Earl Good

Managing Director / President

Earl has spent a majority of his working career with three different companies, General Electric Environmental Services, Marsulex Environmental Technologies and Metso Minerals. He has held roles of increasing responsibility throughout his career, including various management positions. With Metso Minerals since 2003, Earl held the positions of FDG Product Manager, Manager of Proposals and Estimating, Vice President, Global ETO and Vice President Global Engineered Spares. During his most recent roles at Metso Minerals, Earl was responsible for driving growth in the business unit and developing and implementing various global initiatives. Earl possesses exceptional communication skills with the ability to work with diverse cultural groups. He has gained hands-on leadership experience across a range of product lines and multi-disciplined teams, including management of multiple locations.

Earl graduated from Penn State University, where obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Eight years later, he received a Master of Business Administration Degree from Lebanon Valley College. Earl has been married to his wife, Lori, for almost twenty-five years and they have two children; Callie and Madison.

Alan Duckham, Director of Engineering

Director of Engineering

Dr. Duckham has been a member of the Retech team since early 2018 and is responsible for all Engineering functions.  These include Proposal Design, Mechanical and Electrical Design, Electrical and Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Project Engineering.  Dr. Duckham joined Retech with over 15 years of Engineering Leadership experience.  He worked for Materion Corporation in various roles, including Engineering Manager and Technical Manager.  He has also worked for a start-up company, Reactive NanoTechnologies, where he served as the Director of Development Engineering.  Dr. Duckham holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of Cape Town, has completed a postdoctoral Engineering fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University, and has completed the Essentials of MBA at Loyola University, Maryland.

Nathaniel Slinkert

Since joining Retech in February 2006, Mr. Slinkert successfully managed dozens of medium and large scale vacuum furnace projects during one of Retech Systems’ largest growth cycles since its inception. As Director of Program Management, he also oversaw Retech Systems’ procurement department before assuming his current role. As Director of VAR Products, Nathaniel oversees all aspects of this product line, from sales to implementation. In July of 2015, Nathaniel became the Director of Sales whereby he leads the Sales Department and oversees all aspects of Retech’s business development activities.

Prior to his tenure at Retech Systems, Mr. Slinkert spent 15 years working in the semiconductor industry, in which he served a Program Manager for the Broadband Communications Division of Texas Instruments (TI), as well as Director of Marketing Communications at Sirific Wireless (now Icera).   Mr. Slinkert holds a BA in mathematics from the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Robert Cook

Director, Casting Products

Mr. Cook has been a member of the Retech staff since October 1994.  He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.  He started his career at Retech as an Electrical Quality Assurance Engineer whereby he developed equipment Acceptance Test Procedures, performed inspections and supported the Electrical Engineering group.  As the Retech Quality Assurance Manager, Robert helped Retech become ISO certified as well as introduce conformance to international standards, such as CE marking.  As Retech’s business grew, Robert transitioned into the Electrical Engineering Department as an Electrical Project Engineer and designed control systems, including those for a Low Level Nuclear Remediation Melter installed at a nuclear power plant in Japan. Robert strengthened his management skills as the Electrical Engineering Manager and eventually the Engineering Manager.  Presently, Robert holds the position of Director, Casting Products.  He is focusing his energy in product improvement and working with the Sales Organization to provide quality designs which meet our customer’s needs.

John McMenomey

John McMenomey

Director, Electron Beam Products

As Director of Electron Beam Products, Mr. McMenomey oversees all phases of the product cycle.  His involvement begins with supporting sales during the initial customer contacts, and continues through final customer acceptance testing.  He was hired by Retech in 1993 as an Electrical Engineer.  From there he went on to become Electrical Engineering Manager, then Director of Engineering.  Mr. McMenomey is also familiar with Retech’s other product lines including Plasma, Vacuum Induction Melting, Vacuum Arc Remelting and PACT Systems.  Mr. McMenomey holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from California State University, Chico.

Todd Telfer

Mechanical Engineering Supervisor

Mr. Telfer joined Retech in 1995 as a Technical Engineer responsible for structural and thermal analysis of components and subsystems.  He went on to assume project engineering duties on Plasma Melting, Plasma Welding, Plasma Waste Treatment, Electron Beam, and VAR systems.  Mr. Telfer currently holds the position of Director of Plasma Products and is responsible for the development and engineering of Retech’s plasma equipment.  Mr. Telfer holds a BSME degree from Tufts University and an MSME degree from Stanford University.

James Ullrich

Customer Service Manager

Mr. Ullrich has been a member of the Retech staff since May 1985. He started his career at Retech as an Electronic Technician whereby he constructed and tested equipment control systems as well as performing systems start-ups at customer sites around the world. In 1992 he assumed the role of Electrical Shop Supervisor whereby he became responsible for all aspects of the electrical production on Retech’s equipment. In 2001 he was again promoted, this time to Manager of the newly formed Customer Service Department. James manages the day-to-day operations of the Customer Service Department which is responsible for all customer spare parts requirements and equipment improvements as well as warranties and resolution of technical issues.

Mr. Ullrich has an Associates of Science Degree in Electronic Technology from the Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, CA.

Jody Scott

Manager, Special Projects

Mr. Scott joined Retech in 2008 as Engineering Resource Manager.  In this role he is responsible for the logistical aspects of Retech’s Engineering Department, including staffing, scheduling, and budgeting.  Prior to joining the Retech team, he worked as managing engineer developing heavy equipment and automating systems for the global mining, mineral exploration, and highway construction markets.  Mr. Scott holds an AS degree in Industrial Electronics.

Eric Barkhurst

Manager, Manufacturing

As Quality Assurance Manager Mr. Barkhurst monitors all phases of the Retech quality system.  Eric has 22 years of working experience in manufacturing with 15 of those years in Quality Assurance.  He started with Retech in 1997 in Quality Assurance and has held positions as Design Engineering Manager and Quality Assurance Manager.  Mr. Barkhurst holds an Associate Degree in computer programming from the College of the Redwoods, and has taken classes from the following programs to further his education: University of Wisconsin-Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Perry Johnson, Inc.-ISO 9000 Implementation, and A.S.M. International-Class in metallurgy.

Kathleen Goss

Purchasing Manager

The manager of the purchasing department for nearly seven years, Ms. Goss has in excess of thirty years of manufacturing experience, and previously worked as Materials and Planning Manager at Microphor, a division of Westinghouse Air Brake Company. Ms. Goss embraces the concepts of Lean Manufacturing as well as a disciplined ERP System.

Ms. Goss has attended College of San Mateo and Humboldt State University with emphasis in Procurement and contract management. A member of APICS, she has completed several certification programs within that organization.

Jim Goltz

James A. Goltz

Senior Advisor

Prior to becoming President of Retech Systems LLC Mr. Goltz as the VP of Finance for the Energy and Environment Sector as well as the Programs area of Lockheed Martin.  In this capacity, he was responsible for the financial operations of 11 operating units having an equivalent sales base of $4B and functional finance responsibility for a staff of over 1500.  In addition to the consolidating function for the 11 companies and acting as a primary interface to the Lockheed Martin senior staff, he has been heavily involved in the strategic development and oversight of various business activities including the AWE Management Limited and M4 Joint Ventures, the acquisition and divestitures of various entities, and the formation of LMET.  Prior to assuming this position, Mr. Goltz was the CFO of the Lockheed Environmental Services and Technology Company and had over 20 years experience at Sanders, a Lockheed Martin Company, where he was responsible for the finance function for International Radar programs, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, and other activities.  Mr. Goltz holds a BA in Psychology from Providence College and a MBA from the University of New Hampshire.

In January of 2016, Mr. Goltz stepped down as President of Retech and has assumed a role as a Senior Advisor to Retech as well as continuing his involvement as a member of SECO/WARWICK Group’s Supervisory Board.
