Electron Beam melting provides the user with a proven refining technology for a wide range of specialty metals. A Retech Electron Beam (EB) furnace utilizes the ease of use and low maintenance of Von Ardenne guns and cold hearth to melt reactive and refractory metals in a sealed vacuum chamber. A Cold Hearth is a water-cooled, copper vessel is devoid of contaminating elements like Oxygen and yields clean, inclusion-free metal by removing high- and low-density inclusions during cold hearth refining. Electron Beam furnaces can be designed in a wide range of sizes, from laboratory-scale to many tons. Our Electron Beam furnaces can be configured with one or multiple guns, feed systems and withdrawal chambers to meet the needs of our customers. We actively work with those customers to develop the necessary equipment solutions, including upstream and downstream components, as well as alloy and application development. Electron Beam Hearth Melting

Retech Electron Beam (EB) Hearth Melting systems are outfitted with electron beam guns from the worldwide leader in Electron Beam technology, Von Ardenne. In addition, a Retech Electron Beam furnace eliminates the need for electrode welding and primary Vacuum Arc Remelting while yielding clean, as-cast metal by means of high- and low-density inclusion removal during refining. Our EB furnaces can be designed for a wide range of capacities, from a few pounds to several tons, as well as being configured with single or multiple torches, feed systems and withdrawal chambers to match our customer production requirements. Utilizing state-of-the-art Electron Beam melting technology is a proven and viable option for melting and refining a wide range of reactive and refractory metals.
