The VAR-S is a new design optimized for the inherently cleaner VAR process of specialty steels and non-reactive metals.

The VAR-S consists of just three (3) major sub-assembly modules, independently built and tested. This modular build approach enables repeatable assembly procedures, accuracy in making critical adjustments, performing incremental inspections, testing and greatly expedites shipment, offloading and on-site erection work. In addition, all parts are pre-finished and final inspected prior to assembly work.
  1. Lower Furnace Assembly Module
    Consisting of furnace base, support column, head swing and lift mechanisms, and furnace head body.

  2. Upper Furnace Assembly Module
    Consisting of furnace head's top plate, High-Definition melt view system, weigh system, outer anode frame, inner electrode support frame, ram, ram drive, gimbal pivot system and X-Y positioning system.

  3. Melt Stations
    The two melt station water jackets are factory pre-aligned to drop-fit into the furnace base, accommodating a range of crucible sizes and matching water velocity guides. Connections and alignments off the Pit Floor are eliminated.
