The VAR-T consists of just five (5) major sub-assembly modules, independently built and tested. This modular build approach enables repeatable assembly procedures, accuracy in making critical adjustments, performing incremental inspections, testing and greatly expedites shipment, offloading and on-site erection work. In addition, all parts are pre-finished and final inspected prior to assembly work.
  1. Pylon
    Includes column swing mechanism.

  2. Box Column
    Includes ram and furnace head body lift mechanisms.

  3. Lower Head Assembly
    Consisting of furnace head body, High-Definition melt view system and ram seal.

  4. Upper Head Assembly
    Consisting of Power Ram, X-Y Positioning, Load Cells and cables/bus connection.

  5. Melt Stations
    Depending on furnace configuration, one (1) or two (2) Melt Station water jackets are factory pre-aligned to drop-fit into the furnace base, accommodating a range of crucible sizes and matching water velocity guides, and assembled complete with stirring coils and optional melt lock valves. Connections and alignments off the Pit Floor are eliminated.
