Titanium Gas Atomizer - Retech Systems

Titanium Gas Atomizer (TiGA)

As a recognized leader in Titanium Gas Atomization systems for demanding industries like aerospace, Retech delivers custom metal powder production equipment designed to meet rigorous material specifications.

The Titanium Gas Atomizer (TiGA) combines Cold-Wall Induction (CWI) melting, also known as Induction Skull Melting (ISM), with an advanced inert-gas atomization die. CWI technology uses a segmented, water-cooled copper crucible instead of traditional ceramic liners, preventing crucible contamination of the charge mass during processing. This crucible-free melting approach ensures the production of high-purity spherical powders from titanium, titanium alloys (such as Ti-6Al-4V), and other reactive or refractory metals.

Engineered to support spherical metal powder morphology with tight particle size distributions (D50: 50–120 µm) and atomization rates between 60 to 300 kg/hr, the TiGA offers in-process alloying capabilities and flexible feedstock sizes up to 50 kg ingots. Backed by over 50 years of innovation in induction melting, Retech collaborates directly with clients to engineer tailored titanium powder systems that meet exact operational and additive manufacturing requirements.
